What is Mixed Incontinence?

Mixed incontinence is a combination of stress and urge incontinence.

Leakage occurs due to stress and may begin with a strong and sudden urge.

Because of the ‘double characteristics’ of mixed incontinence it can be a bit more difficult to diagnose and treat compared to other types of incontinence.

Treatment options

Treatment is based on the individual problems and symptoms found. Begin treating one of the incontinence types first.

The leakage is often somewhat larger in case of mixed incontinence, so smaller incontinence products might not suffice: it may be necessary to use products with a higher absorption capacity, such as Abri-San Normal, Abri-San Midi, or Abri-San Plus.
